SOLANA BEACH, CA — Gordon Training International has just completed instructor training for 20 new Parent Effectiveness Training (P.E.T.) and Teacher Effectiveness Training (T.E.T.) in Beirut, Lebanon. Here’s a quote from Dr. Bill Stinnett, the master trainer for this workshop, about this new group of peacekeepers:
“This is a great class, full of dedicated, intelligent, passionate people who want to ‘change the world.’ There are two men and eighteen women. About one third of the participants are teachers, another third are therapists, and the rest college students (grad students). They pick up the skills quickly and are motivated to learn how to apply them in their work. And it is impressive work that they do.
Violence is a huge problem in this war-torn part of the world and the effect of that is evident in their family life. There is a lot of abuse of all sorts against women and children (everyone actually). These people are on a mission to put a stop to it. They are committed to a nonviolent way of raising children and leading one’s life.”
Many of these newly-trained instructors will begin offering P.E.T. and T.E.T. classes.
This training was organized by Ms. Joyce Kawkabani for the Himaya organization she heads up and the President of GTI, Ms. Linda Adams.
